COVID 19-UPDATE 24.03.2020
It is interesting times at the moment and there will be big changes in all our households. Here are a couple things to be aware of as we move into this period level 4 isolation and online learning.
The school will start a short period of online and home learning starting this week, running from today until Friday 27th March. The key focus of this time is ensuring that all students are connected on line. Students will then be on school holiday for two weeks from Monday 30th March to Tuesday 14th April. These holidays have been brought forward by the Ministry of Education. Students will return to online learning on Wednesday 15th April
Your child will need to have internet access and access to a device (chromebook, laptop, or desktop etc) to access online learning. Your child will also need access to pencils, pen and paper. If there is anything that your child needs from school or if they need to borrow a chromebook there will be teachers available at school from 9am to 3pm today. If you don’t have internet access at home please contact your teacher as soon as possible.
If a member of your family is put into 14 day self-isolation or in fact contracts covid-19 it is really important that you contact the school office to let them know. This is to ensure our records are up to date for when students return to school. the school office email is firstname.lastname@example.org
Your first port of call in regards to online learning is your child’s classroom teacher. Please see the website or the latest newsletter for their email details.
Here are some useful links that will provide further information regarding the Covid-19 virus.
The school will make regular contact with parents updating them on the latest situation through the weekly school newsletter, facebook and the school online platforms.
As much as normal, school will carry on but from a distance. Stay safe, stick to the rules and be kind to each other.
